Many people in today’s society long to get in touch with their creative selves. They head to writers’ retreats, take week-long vacations to catch up on their scrapbooking or attend classes which teach them to make their own pottery. These artistic endeavors help to get the creative juices flowing. But the individual who is really interested in a creative life will take an artistic approach to everyday activities.

Look around your home and office and see what you can do to express yourself in a small way. One idea is to purchase several sets of vinyl lettering and use the letters to spell out inspirational words and quotes in the places where you spend the most time. "Home is where the heart is" is a terrific phrase for a front window. "Celebrate" is a nice thing to see above your own face in the bathroom mirror.

Take this a step further and add images to your decorations. Create your own window decals or magnetic car signs to express your creativity. In this way, you get to see your self-expression daily while sharing it with the world around you. Change the images and sayings regularly to reflect where you’re at in life. Before you take them down, though, take some pictures. Every day actions are what art is all about.
