Decorating your Photography School Apartment

During the time that you are in college, you are almost always living in temporary housing. Sometimes that’s a dorm room; other times it’s a small apartment. Either way, it’s usually a small space that you’re renting out and not going to be in for long. So how do you go about decorating your apartment with these constraints in place?
The main thing to do is to rely on your creative instincts. If you’re going to photography school, you’ll want to focus on using your photography skills to design the apartment. Buy inexpensive frames, fill them with your latest work and place them strategically throughout the small space. Create a photo collage in the bathroom or on the ceiling for something unique that says a little about who you are.
If you’re lacking inspiration, look to the area where you’re living for a little bit of help. For example, if you’re pursuing Tampa degree programs, allow the nearby waters of Tampa Bay to set the tone for the photography you use in the home. Alternatively, use your school as a starting point. For example, if you’re at Gibbs College Vienna, spend a few days on campus photographing the school’s architecture and letting it influence your decorating.
Just because you’re in a small space that you don’t own doesn’t mean that you can’t make it your own. Be creative and rely on the things that are already at your disposal to create a home that you’ll enjoy living in while you’re in school.
