What Is An Archive? »

Individuals and organizations have always wanted to keep documentation about their activities. Archivists identify and preserve portions of this recorded information that have lasting value. These records, and the places they are kept, are called "archives." This blog will hopefully serve as an archive for many documented activities and general interesting information.

Commercial Property For Sale In Florida: Moving My Home Based Business »

I’m moving my home based business into the real world and I’ve got a lot planned. The commercial property for sale in Florida is quite interesting. I am finding some areas that have a lot to offer to me. Others are just bursting with opportunities. Each property that I have seen has something unique to offer, which has made my decision a difficult one at best!

Commercial property in Florida seems to be affordably priced right now. I know the housing market has lost a good deal of footing in the last couple of years, but commercially, I’m finding good prices even in some of the most ideal locations. My focus has been South Florida, so most of my research comes from this location.

I find it interesting that so many deals are out there. It is definitely a buyer’s market and I’m benefiting from it. I am really hopping to buy into the commercial property for sale in Florida and the Miami location intrigues me. I have visited, but there is so much to explore. I found the City’s website to be a good place to find information especially for locations. As I explore all there is to offer here, I am anxious to finally start my business and get into the public’s eye.

Ready-Set–Snow »

We got the bright idea to take the kids on a winter vacation. Living in the great southwest, our children had never seen snow. Since it is fairly warm year round without winter precipitation, we thought it would be fun to pack up the family and go to the mountains and enjoy a couple of days of doing cold weather and snow filled activities. On the agenda, we wanted to go sleigh riding and make snowmen. Of course, we also wanted to participate in an old fashion snow ball fight.

As I started packing I realized quickly that our “winter coats” probably wouldn’t keep the kids warm in snow laden areas. Our fleece and sweatshirt lined coats needed to be replaced with kids snowboard jackets. Youth snowboard gear substituted our normal winter clothes of sweatpants and sweaters. We needed clothes that would insulate us from the wind and snow. The kids’ jeans had to be covered with kids ski pants to keep them dry and comfortable.

Getting ready for our winter vacation did require an apparel upgrade. Since we can wear shorts and t-shirts nine months out of the year, we needed to rethink packing for a vacation centered on snow.

My Sister’s Supra »

My sister was always a fan of the Toyota Supra.  Her first car was a 1986 ½ Supra — the half because halfway through the year, they changed to the new body style and the larger 3.0 inline six-cylinder engine.  She loved that car — but unfortunately it was her high school and college car, so it took a pretty good beating.

A few years ago, she decided it was time to upgrade.  Of course, she knew she wanted another Supra — just, this time, a newer one.  She hunted and hunted for a Supra at a good price and with good mileage, and finally bought a 1997 Toyota Supra from someone in Maryland — more than halfway across the country from us.

Her new car is absolutely fantastic — well worth the time and hassle of finding the perfect car.  It has aftermarket wheels and plenty of chrome accessories.  The car has those crystal blue headlights and fog lights.  The car has some really high tech auto accessories, such as exhaust and a cold air intake — which reduces the amount of resistance and makes it easier for the engine to "breathe," thereby increasing horsepower.

My sister now has another car as a daily driver, but the Supra is — and always will be — her baby!

Keeping Up with Current Affairs »

I like to keep up with news and current affairs. As I don’t have much time to watch TV I get most of my news online. In fact I cannot remember the last time I bought a newspaper! Though I have to admit I have picked up a few in airports and doctors offices to read!

My favorite news sites include general news sites such as the BBC and MSNBC . My favorite specialized news sites include space news,   business news and news sites related to technology. I have been growing my list of news sites, but the challenge is to get the most information in the least amount of time.
The way to get around this is to use RSS syndication to get all the current news that I want in one place. RSS has made the delivery of news so much easier and it’s the ideal way to read your news on a daily basis.

Landscaping of Homes for Sale in Florida »

When you are looking at homes for sale in Florida, the thing that you’re going to be looking at is the house itself. You may also take care to consider aspects of the house such as the neighborhood in which it is located but your primary concern will be that the home structure itself is designed in a way that suits you. This is particularly true when looking at purchasing custom homes.

The design of the home is crucial to whether or not you’re going to like it but you’re not going to want to neglect additional factors as you look at homes for sale. For example, you may want to carefully consider the landscaping that exists and that which is possible around the home. If you’ve always wanted a waterfront home, then you should aim to find this when seeking out your new place.

Landscaping options will vary greatly from area to area. What works well for the yards of custom homes in Tampa may not be suitable for the yards of custom homes in Orlando. Being aware of the natural limitations of landscaping caused by the climate and local neighborhood design is going to help you to choose the home that you’ll want to keep coming home to for a long time to come.
